The life of your tattoo is dependent upon the care it receives within the first few days… it takes on average about two weeks to heal, and two more weeks to settle in.
Keep your tattoo bandaged for atleast an hour.
Remove bandage and wash tattoo gently with cool, soapy water.
Rinse thoroughly, lightly pat dry with a clean towel.
Things you DO NOT do to your tattoo!
Re-bandage your tattoo.
Use vaseline or petroleum jelly(unless advised to do so).
Use alcohol or peroxide, Pick or scratch your tattoo.
Expose a fresh tattoo to the sun for long periods.
Soak your tattoo in a bath tub or shower for long periods.
Over lubricate your tattoo, however, don’t let it dry out, either. should any seepage occur, gently dab off excess with a clean paper towel and re-apply a thin layer of cream.
Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight and sun beds. Stay out of pools, hot tubs, oceans, etc. for two weeks. With clean hands, apply a thin layer of cream which was prescribed by your tattooist 3 to 5 times a day for up to 5 days depending if you scab badly. After the first scab has naturally fallen off you may use a moisturiser to soften the skin and stop the itchiness. If a rash occurs (bumps on or around the tattoo which looks like an allergic reaction) or redness persists, discontinue use of the aftercare cream and call us for advice or product alternatives.
